The Doppleganger is in the Crystal Desert in Tyra (Prophecies) You can only fight it when you have finished all 3 Ascending Missions / Minigames.
You fight him to be able to reach the UnderWorld and Fissure Of Woe. He / she / it is a perfect Copy of you when you fight it, it has same strengh, skills, armour. |

When i ascended my monk, AND my elementalist, my dobbelganger, used a chaos axe, and several axe skills, and did VERY high dmg with it. That shouldent be possible when none of these characthers are sencondary warrior, and hence the dobbelganger could not have any axe attribute points nor skills. |

The Doppleganger is technically a superior image of yourself. It has 15 ranks in each Attribute, can use Sword skills with it's axe, uses a bow, has (from what I can tell) maximum AL armor, and can use any and all skills you currently have equipped. If a player is not prepared for the challenged, they have a ~90% chance of utter failure. The way to avoid complete defeat is to understand the above information and to exploit the Dopplegangers weaknesses; mainly, his use of your skillbar. meab, if you do not know what the Doppleganger is, I will assume you did not play the original Guild Wars release (Prophecies Campaign). If you do not own that game, you will be unable to go to Tyria to fight the Doppleganger. |

Also, if you get the first guildwars and make something with a monk first or second profession, make sure you bring healing breeze.
The dopple will never use this skill and you can maintain it on you for the whole match, which makes it very easy. |

The Doppleganger will indeed make use of the Monk spell "Healing Breeze", though the theories on what triggers his usage of the spell vary... In my own personal experience, he has only used it to counter Health Degeneration. However, others have claimed that he has used it in other circumstances. |

Ok, sorry. I suppose the reason he never used it on me is because of the fact that I didn't use any skills on him.

Everytime I'm in Augury Rock and monk primaries or secondaries ask how to beat the Doppelganger, I tell them Healing Breeze, Life Attunement, and no skills to cause health degen. I have run through the doppel with about 7 monk chars, and never once has he used HB (never once did I give him health degen). Usually he will cast Life Attunement when his health is about 50% and do even less damage. Guildwiki has an excellent guide to this topic.
